John 21:15 — Acts 1:8
15 Then when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You. He said to him, Feed My lambs.
16 He said to him again a second time, Simon, son of John, do you love Me? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You. He said to him, Shepherd My sheep.
17 He said to him the third time, Simon, son of John, do you love Me? Peter was grieved that He said to him the third time, Do you love Me? And he said to Him, Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You. Jesus said to him, Feed My sheep.
18 Truly, truly, I say to you, When you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish to go.
19 Now this He said, signifying by what kind of death he would glorify God. And when He had said this, He said to him, Follow Me.
20 Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also reclined on His breast at the supper, and said, Lord, who is the one betraying You?
21 Peter therefore, seeing him, said to Jesus, Lord, and what about this man?
22 Jesus said to him, If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.
23 This word therefore went out among the brothers, that that disciple would not die, yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but, If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you?
24 This is the disciple who testifies concerning these things, and the one who has written these things; and we know that his testimony is true.
25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which, if they were written one by one, I suppose that not even the world itself could contain the books written.
CHAPTER 1
1 The former account I have made, O Theophilus, concerning all the things that Jesus began both to do and to teach,
2 Until the day on which He was taken up, after He had given commandment through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom He chose;
3 To whom also He presented Himself alive after His suffering by many irrefutable proofs, appearing to them through a period of forty days and speaking the things concerning the kingdom of God.
4 And as He met together with them, He charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, He said, You heard from Me;
5 For John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days from now.
6 So the ones who came together asked Him, saying, Lord, are You at this time restoring the kingdom to Israel?
7 But He said to them, It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has set by His own authority.
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
