Genesis 24:1  Genesis 24:20

And Abraham was old, and advanced in age. And Jehovah had blessed Abraham in all things.

 And Abraham said to his servant, the oldest of his house, who ruled over all that he had, Put your hand under my thigh;

And I will make you swear by Jehovah, the God of heaven and the God of earth, that you will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I am dwelling.

But you shall go to my country and to my relatives, and take a wife for my son Isaac.

And the servant said to him, Perhaps the woman will not be willing to follow me to this land. Must I then take your son back to the land from where you came?

And Abraham said to him, Be certain not to take my son back there.

Jehovah, the God of heaven, who took me from my father’s house and from the land of my birth, and who spoke to me, and who swore to me, saying, To your seed I will give this land, He will send His angel before you; and you shall take a wife for my son from there.

And if the woman is not willing to follow you, you shall be free from this oath of mine; only you shall not take my son back there.

So the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master and swore to him concerning this matter.

And the servant took ten camels from the camels of his master and departed, having all kinds of his master’s good things in his hand. And he rose up and went to Aram-naharaim, to the city of Nahor.

And he made the camels to kneel down outside the city by the well of water at the time of evening, at the time when women go out to draw water.

And he said, O Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, Please grant me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.

I am standing here by the spring of water as the daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water.

And may it be that the girl to whom I say, Please let down your pitcher that I may drink, and who says, Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink, may she be the one whom You have appointed for Your servant, for Isaac; and in this I will know that You have shown kindness to my master.

But before he had finished speaking, there was Rebekah, who was born to Bethuel the son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham’s brother, coming out with her pitcher upon her shoulder.

And the girl was very beautiful in appearance, a virgin, and no man had known her. And she went down to the spring and filled her pitcher and came up.

And the servant ran to meet her and said, Please let me sip a little water from your pitcher.

And she said, Drink, my lord. And she hurried and lowered her pitcher on her hand and gave him a drink.

And when she had finished giving him a drink, she said, I will draw water for your camels also, until they have finished drinking.

And she hurried and emptied her pitcher into the trough and ran again to the well to draw water, and she drew it for all his camels.
